Hello! Quick word from the devs, we are beginner game devs and very new to game jams (this being our second one), and we had a blast participating in the jam and making this game. Hope you like it. (The game was made in 4 days because we were being lazy for the first three days (ー_ー;) ).

Note : The game has issues running on FireFox but works seemlessly on other browsers.

The Game

This game was made for the Brackeys Game Jam 2025.1

BragKing is an RPG inspired by the old Game Boy games. The purpose of the game, you ask? Well... its to brag, as bragging increases infamy, a key stat that allows you to progress through the game and its dungeons.

How does the game fit the theme?

Our protagonist, Dig, an archeologist, gets the ability to rewind time after falling in a ditch and encountering a strange statue. He is then tasked with preventing a war between two factions that might just destroy the valley and the villages in it.

The only problem being that he has to do so in just a day. Whenever Dig is not able to prevent the war, he uses his powers to rewind time and try again, ensuring that nothing ever goes wrong!

NOTE - ALTHOUGH THE GAME IS TOUCH ENABLED AND WORKS ON MOBILE PHONES WE RECOMMENDED YOU TO PLAY IT EITHER ON A WINDOWS/MAC/ WITH A CONTROLLER.

• ARROW KEYS - Movement
• Z - Confirm / Interact
• SHIFT- SPRINT

Tips:

• The more you brag, the more imfamy you gain
• Talk to ever NPC that you encounter (You might just find some of the easter eggs that we hid.)
• Some NPC'S offer additional dialogues (You just might want to talk to them again after every dungeon)

HOW TO PLAY ( STEP BY STEP GUIDE):

Complete the first dungeon

Talk to Bozu Sama (Bo san) x 2

Talk to NPC's in the village

Visit the inn and talk to the non human NPC

Complete his quest (take him to his village and get the key to treat warehouse)

Enter treat warehouse ( Animal village dungeon)

Complete the dungeon

Go back to the main village  and talk to the inn keeper and the drunk man.

Go to the chicken village in the northeast of the main village

Talk to the NPC in the chicken village ( you obtain the key to egg-se-cute tower from him)

Enter Egg-Se-Cute Tower ( Chicken village dungeon)

Complete the dungeon

Game Clear!
